Kick out flashings:

This flashing is designed to divert water running down a roof away from the wall of the house. It stops water from entering behind the siding and causing potential damage. Depending on the siding system and installation method the flashing may not be visible. It is one of the most common flashing mistakes that we catch during our inspections.

Can a missing flashing be added?

Absolutely. The difficulty to add a flashing after your roof and siding has been installed varies depending on the siding and roof material. For example, vinyl is generally much easier vs. Stucco. Typically the flashing is installed under the roof shingles and siding. Consult a quality exterior contractor on the best solution for your house.
